St. Paul’s School gets jazzy, while St. Joseph’s Abbey and Seminary celebrates

In October, two Northshore schools got into the fund-raising spirit. On Oct. 22, St. Paul’s School in Covington held its annual “Jazz ‘N Roll” benefit. This party is known for its variety of food and drink, raffles, silent and live auctions, and entertainment, provided this year by Nova, the Wagners, St. Paul’s Marching Band, and Ivy.

St. Joseph’s Abbey and Seminary hosted its annual “Deo Gratias” benefit on Oct. 28 at the Abbey. The soirée featured cuisine from Louisiana Grill, music from Earth Angels and an auction, including items such as an antique choir kneeler, paintings from local artists and weekend getaways. Proceeds from “Deo Gratias,” which means “Thanks be to God,” will help fundmuch-needed repairs to seminary buildings, as well as defray the cost of tuition, and room and board for the seminarians, the Benedictine monks.
