Thursday, February 28, at the House of Blues, The Louisiana Chapter
of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society held, “Dress Blues at the
House of Blues.”

The event kicked off with a patron party in the Foundation Room at the House of Blues, with the party moving to The Parish for general admission at 7:30 p.m.
In true HoB style, New Orleans’ own Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews and Orleans Avenue were on hand to rock out for partygoers. The evening’s festivities also included a live auction, with items for bid including an autographed George Rodrigue print, a Tag Heuer watch, a big screen television and an evening “on the town,” including chauffeur service.

In a press release, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society reported, “an estimated 680 new cases of leukemia, 920 cases of lymphoma and 430 cases of myeloma in Louisiana in 2007.” The organization is working, through fundraising and volunteer work, to eradicate leukemia and other blood cancers and to aid patients and their families as they deal with these life-threatening illnesses.

Sponsors for the event included: People’s Health; the McIlhenny Family Foundation; Deutsch, Kerrigan & Stiles; Gulf Coast Bank; Whitney National Bank; and New Orleans Magazine.
