Nearly 100 guests gathered Thursday, April 3, at the New Orleans home of Cathy and Morris Bart for an event recognizing the WDSU/NewsChannel 6 “Problem Solvers” program, which is staffed by volunteers from the National Council of Jewish Women.

Organized by Chairwoman Susan Hess, the evening featured entertainment by John Rankin, a New Orleans Magazine 2008 Jazz All-star, and a sumptuous array of vittles by Chef Rommel’s Catering.

 “Since 1993, dedicated NCJW volunteers have responded to the Consumer Help Line at WDSU-TV, assisting thousands of New Orleanians in resolving tough consumer problems,” Rebeckah Marinaro of NCJW said. “We are grateful for the heart and energy that our volunteers have poured into this program!”

Festivities also included a raffle, with tickets pulled – with gusto – by the 12-year-old son of Ina and Richard Davis, along with the 12-year-old daughter of hosts Cathy and Morris Bart.
