Le Pétit Théâtre du Vieux Carré is back, beautiful and is having a benefit on June 23. And, the magazine is so excited we have some of the event’s key players on the cover: Event co-chair Cathie Choppin Weinstein, theatre artistic director Sonny Borey, board chair Harry Widmann, and gala committee and board members Cassie Steck Worley and Martin Covert. The party starts with a backstage tour and champagne patron reception, then the gala will feature food and drink from local restaurants, a short presentation of the musical “Sugar Babies,” Jep Epstein performing his song, “Our Home Louisiana,” and a live auction of amazing items conducted by event co-chair Bryan Batt. Come help support the oldest, continuously producing community theater in America.
Event co-chair Mary Jane Becker, Leah Chase, Girl Scout Council of Southeast La. CEO Jackie Alexander and Bev for the Girl Scouts’ “Rhapsody in Green” gala on June 23. The event is at the Louisiana Children’s Museum with Wanda Rouzan, the Pfister Sisters and the Soul Rebels Brass Band as entertainment. Leah Chase will be honored. Kudos to all of you who are bringing our city back by chairing or attending the many fund-raisers in our city—or helping others rebuild. I want to note that Leah Chase’s famous restaurant, Dooky Chase, had a Holy Thursday party in honor of the restaurant’s return on June 1. Chef John Folse has been so supportive of Leah in the spirit of a friend helping friend!
